Zimbabwe 2006An expedition to Hwange National Park (HNP), Zimbabwe was set up to study two aspects of animal biology.

The first project involved a dietary analysis of African lions in HNP. The aim of this project was to understand more fully lion diet and foraging behaviour in HNP.

Three projects were carried out on the effects of trophy hunting on several species in the Matetsi Safari Area (MSA) of Hwange, including African elephant and leopard. The aims of these projects were to assess if trophy hunting is being done sustainably in MSA.

Both of these projects involved training local parks employees, so it is hoped that research may continue after the expedition.
